Jutsu Information
As you would come to know, the shinobi world is filled with several extraordinary individuals -- many of which are capable of performing great feats of spiritual or physical dominance. These are commonly done in the form of 'Jutsu' -- which varies based on category. Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Ninjutsu, Fuuinjutsu are just a small number of classifications in which these skills fall under. In addition, there are categories that are exclusive for Samurai, Necromancers, and Priests as well, as their skills tend to be only accessible to their particular classes.
Every skill, no matter what, must adhere to certain qualities or statistics. They are as followed.
- Name
- The name is essentially, since it's what helps us archive and keep track of the skill! All names should be unique or at least have certain words that make it stand apart from another.
- No two Jutsu will have the same name.
- Rank
- The ranking system is to determine a skill's level of difficulty, and typically is tied to a technique's power. It's ordered from E, D, C, B, A, and S. The lower the grade, the more easy it is to learn or teach. Normally this also means less of a drain and power.
- Certain skills may have special requirement that skew the difficulties. For example, Rasengan while 'A' ranked, still would be far more difficult to learn or create than a normal A-rank.
- Most skills will require that you have the associated skill-rank, or the proper perk before you may pursue.
[li]Range
- The technique's range is set into three category. Short, Mid, and Long range.
- Short Range is only a few meters, and typically means you have to be in close-quarter combat. For the game, we define this as [1 - 2] tiles, at the most. Normally it will be exclusively one tile unless stated otherwise/
- Mid-Ranged attacks can go the distance, but already quite good enough to snipe an opponent. Most jutsu fall into this category, and for IoG, we classify mid-range skills as techniques that go anywhere from 5 to 8 tiles.
- Lastly comes 'Long-Ranged' skills. Unless specified otherwises, these type of techniques can go exceptionally far, chasing down people that are damn near out of sight. These technique move anywhere from 8 to 15 tiles.
[li]Drain
- Well duh, nothing in life is free! All skills must already have a drain in place. It can be from your chakra reserves, or stamina.
- Certain skills may be lower ranked, but have immense chakra costs. This is in place to account for the power or versatility.
- Other skills may drain exotic sources of reservoirs, or perhaps have a 'cost' of damaging the body.
[li]Classifications
- The skill's category: Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, etc.
- The categories can be mixed, and in addition to that, certain skills may have other exotic classifications [Kinjutsu, Kekkei Genkai, etc].
[li]Rarity
- Rarity refers to it's availability. The categories are as followed; Common, Uncommon, Rare, Special, Unique.
- If a skill is 'Common', anyone can get it assuming they reach the requirement.
- If a skill is Uncommon, that means you must be taught by a person who already knows the skill
- Rare skills are typically only allowed to one person, and tend to have superbly high requirements.
- Specials refer to things like Hiden techniques that can only be taught to other clansmen. Unique skills are those that require admin permission.
